Kate is a counselling psychologist, couple and family therapist with over twenty years experience. Kate has worked in a variety of community settings including many years in palliative care, where she developed a particular interest in loss and grief. Kate also worked for many years with services providing support to the LGBTIQ communities and continues to have a keen interest in the issues facing these communities. Kate also worked briefly as a mediator which has broadened her understanding of the issues faced by those involved in conflict and disputes.
Kate has successfully worked with individuals, couples and families, using a variety of counselling modalities, helping them negotiate and better manage the many life stages faced by people throughout their lives. Kate is considered to have a no-nonsense style of working with her clients focusing on a collaborative therapeutic relationship whilst maintaining empathy, respect, compassion and humour.
Kate believes we are all capable of achieving our potential, we just need a good safe place in which to grow.
